Spider as a Pet - Guild Wars Forums

I've been trying since pre-searing to find a spider i can tame as my pet. Is there anyone that can put an end to my journey and let me know if it's possible. I have seen a picture of one that is claimed to be down in the Underworld but haven't found it myself. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks

Yeah, it's possible. I belive you can get one in the underworld, which is at the end of the game.

Uw isn't at the end of the game, it's an optional part of the game able to be travelled to when you progress to Kryta.

Ok, well, it's end-game level. You'd be well advised to have end-game gear and your full attributes.

Post-ascension isn't all that far away. If you're a monk you can get into UW parties at level 18.

Look for a place named Temple of the Ages (north west of Lion's Arch). If your server (america, europe, korea) has the favor of the gods, you can talk to a NPC near Grenth's statue. He'll bring you to the Underworld. Expect to fight lvl28/30 enemies who are able to kill a spellcaster in 2 hits and a warrior in 3/4 hits. An unprepared team gets wiped in less than 2min. A good and experienced team can get a disgusting amount of XP, as well as rare materials for the nifty Fissure of Woe armors.

Monks can get there earlier the ascention, but that is only because they are in very short supply. Even then unless your really good, you will not survive long enough to find the spider.

the one problem with ranger groups in UW is...

...as soon as a spider apears ther all hamering away at charm button trying to be the first then when 1 guy gets it the rest flames and flames it si pretty funny, i am yet to get my spider

It would be even funnier if they took away your sword and gave you a wet noodle.People like you are why i group with henchies,

I was just in UW and didn't get rid of my old pet, I could have got a spider. They come out of chests when you do quests. I was pretty annoyed...

The "Wrathful Spirits" quest yields a spider. I've gotten one without a hardcore team, it's not that far into the UW.

There are spiders pre-searing too. They are in the green hills country as soon as you come out of the town place. They are lvl 2 when you first get one i think.

you cannot charm PreSearing spiders
- you will get a message that they are not an animal

that only worked during Beta

You can't get these spiders, they aren't considered animals, and can't be charmed even though their names are green.
